The array was created out of 7x1 element resonant-series-fed sections. The aperture distribution is a cosine-squared-on-a-pedestal, with a taper of 6 dB. I used Robert Sainati's "CAD of Microstrip Antennas" DOS programs to design the array, then simulated it with the (expensive) planar EM simulator Ensemble, which my company is evaluating.
